Picking Up an Older Hobby of Mine

November 3rd, 2011

When I started getting bored a few months ago, I decided that I was going to pursue some of my hobbies that I hadn’t thought about in a while. I busted out my old sketch book and started sketching, but that didn’t hold my interest for too long. That’s when I started looking through the hard drive of an older computer of mine. Doing so, I found an old script that I’d written for the stage. I read through it, loved it, and decided that I was going to have to enroll in some Los Angeles acting classes. Of course, now that I’m actually pursuing the hobby again, it’s a bit hard to remember why I ever dropped it to begin with. I really love writing and acting quite a bit; I guess I simply decided that they were unrealistic aspirations at the end of the day. But it’s really never too late to realize your mistakes and start fresh.

How to Get Ahead As a Young Actor

July 20th, 2011

Teens and youth are in high demand in show business today. Television shows and movies for young people are more popular than ever, and if you are a young aspiring actor many opportunities await. It is important to have a good professional portfolio of photographs, as well as a complete resume of any acting jobs you have done. Don’t forget to include stats like height, weight, hair color and eye color. Having a web page with all your information on it can also help scouts find you. And you will want to attend casting calls and auditions, such as Nickelodeon Auditions, which are generally open to younger actors. At some point in your career, you may want to consider taking on an agent to handle your casting arrangements and to seek casting calls for you. If you are serious about acting, then a little careful planning can help you reach your acting goals.
